SEPTEMBER 17 (7:00 PM)
Open House Meet & Greet – Upper Dublin Township Building
Open House – Please join us for an opportunity to learn how SPEAC supports families of students with disabilities in our community and school district. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about SPEAC and to meet members of SPEAC’s committees along with parents and educators who share your concern for your child with special needs.

OCTOBER 12 (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM)
Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser (Knapp Rd, North Wales)
Join us as we team up with the Upper Dublin Wings Club to raise funds to purchase sensory items that will be used to create sensory backpacks for each of the UD school buildings.  The sensory backpacks will contain a variety of sensory items that can be used by teachers to help give students with sensory needs an opportunity to participate in various school events.

OCTOBER 20 (10:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Get on Board Skateboarding Event – Ambler Skateboarding Academy
SPEAC and Get on Board are teaming up to provide a skateboarding program designed to teach children with disabilities the joys and benefits of skateboarding.  1:1 lessons are provided free. This event will be held in doors at the Ambler Skateboarding Academy (300 Brookside Drive, Unit C, building 19. Enter through gate D). NOVEMBER 3 (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Sensory Break Room hosted by SPEAC at the UD Township Tri-Centennial Event – UD Township Building Community Room
Some events may be overstimulating to children with special needs for variety of reasons. A sensory break room provides a calming place for children to go to for a break. Our goal is to provide parents an opportunity to have their child participate in community events with a quiet space when a break is needed.  

NOVEMBER 18 (7:00 PM)
Transition from the Dark Ages to the Present – UDHS Media Center, 2nd floor
Presented by Craig Leber, MS, BCBA, LBS of Craig Leber and Associates LLC. This session will review the history of transition, but mostly will discuss current services, Craig’s experience with transition, and ways to plan a successful secondary transition.

DECEMBER 12 (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
Parent Social at Track 3 Microbrewery and Coffee House (Dreshertown Plaza, 1650 Limekiln Pike, Dresher)
Join us for a social gathering in a relaxed atmosphere to meet other parents who share our experiences. The event is casual, stop by when you can. Light refreshments will be available. Beer and coffee available for purchase from Track 3.     

 JANUARY 8 (7:00 PM) -
CANCELLED.  Due to speaker unavailability this presentation will not take place.

Presented by Bev Weinberg, Founder and Executive Director of Integrate for Good.  Integrate for Good is a nonprofit organization designed to strengthen communities by expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to contribute their time and talent through civic engagement and volunteerism. Special Education Review with Dr. Steven Yanni, Superintendent of Schools - UDHS Media Center, 2nd floor
Please join us for an open discussion with Dr. Steven Yanni and the Special Education team for a review of our district’s special education programs this school year and discussion of plans for the upcoming school year.
